27 Days Until Christmas Day

Can you believe there are only 27 days until christmas and it will be December before the end of the week!

Doesn’t time fly by.. Sometimes I cant believe how fast the year goes by. Lifes been quite manic this year so I must apologise for the lack of blog posts. My new years resolution will be to start writing with more regularity.

Sales are UP marginally on Black Friday this year so are we any nearer the end of the recession? Not a chance. In Europe we have seen the Euro sliding yet again amid austerity fears for Ireland. The debt crisis also shows signs of spreading to Portugal and Spain like a virus.

Free Online Fax Services In the UK

I had a requirement to send a fax and receive a fax from the UK last week but after a quick search on the web I found that most online fax services wanted a monthly subscription. I spent a few hours looking for some online fax services that would do the job but would also be cost effective. I wanted to avoid a monthly fee.

Now that I have finally found 2 companies in the UK that do this job without a costly subscription I thought Id share them with you to make life easier.

Big Freeze in the UK #uksnow

Unless you live under a rock you will be aware that the UK has been invaded over the last week. We arent talking terrorists, we arent talking swine flu. It appears that we have been invaded by some white stuff called snow.

The country is grinding to a halt with thousands of schools closed and many people deciding to stay at home rather than risk life and limb getting into the office. Delays and closures are also affecting airports, trains and the roads. The temperature in the UK in some parts has dropped as low as -21.2c (-6.2F). This is as cold as the South Pole. Apparently this is the worst big freeze in the UK since 1981. Looks like global warming is starting to kick in after all.

Fight Back Against UK Uninsured Drivers

Hi. Its Friday again and today Id like to talk about something non-finance related for a change.

Lets just say its down to personal experience…

If you have ever been involved in a car accident with an uninsured driver you will understand how ineffective the UK car insurance system is.

If you are hit by an uninsured driver even with fully comprehensive insurance in the UK it is likely that you will:

* Lose your no-claims bonus

* Have to pay a minimum excess of £350 on the costs of fixing your vehicle

Co-op Bank Thank You

Isnt it about time that banks started appreciating their customers for a change ?

With the global recession we are in a situation where many banks have been close to the edge of failure. Some banks such as RBS and Lloyds TSB have been bailed out by us “the tax payer”, ultimately their own customers.

It is now a time for banks to appreciate their customers, to retain their customers and to tailor their products to customer needs.

Lets Have The Savings!

Every day thousands of people save millions of pounds on their household bills using moneysupermarket.com. But what do people do with the money they’ve saved?  We challenged customers to make a short video to tell us what they did with their savings.

Think you’re funny? Why not take part in the Let’s Have the Savings viral campaign and you could win £500. Another great way to clear those debts and become financially free.

Swine Flu at the Wharf

Today we have news that an employee of Waitrose in Canary Wharf, London has contracted Swine Flu. So beware City workers of London…. Soon we will start having visions of Canary Wharf as depicted in the movie 28 Days Later with zombies infected with Swine Flu occupying the city with a few lucky non infected fighting to survive..

95% of Blogs Fail

I learnt the other day on Fox News that 95% of Blogs fail due to the amount of work thats required to keep them maintained and updated with regular content . Often this will be a one way communication channel until the blog becomes popular at which point there is likely to be more interaction from your readers via comments etc. For some bloggers this can become soul destroying with hours of work for no apparent return. Eventually the blogger will lose interest and the blog will become one of the thousands of blogs to disappear into cyberspace.
